Forest Tale
"Let's go to the forest... Let's go deeper... Let's go... Let's go..."
From the unpaved road we took an odd path into the forest. Through the lush foliage I could only see her tail. It was moving steadily, so I knew that Cinderella was excited. Even though she was just a chihuahua dog, I felt safe as when accompanied by a big canine. I still payed attention to any sounds and movements, but in the same time I was taking the forest in...
Cinderella was leading me as if she had an exact place in her little head. Anyway, I was open to chance. No sign of any developed pathway, just foliage and her joyous tail. Although at one point I entertained the idea of going back, something was pushing me forward: "A little bit more, a little bit more...," I kept hearing myself. My prevailing notion at the time was that nothing bad can happen when surrounded by beauty and-- how I perceived the growing green mass around--the essence of life; so I carried on into the forest. It was pretty dark but sun rays still came through...
After some time we started to climb a bit, without any view of what was up there. I did not think too much of it and went straight up. Then...there she was... A deer and her spotted fawn stood majestically in the midst of a round clearing of the forest. They were not scared and did not run as if they were in a certain circle where they knew we could not enter. I did not even try.
The animals were grazing sparingly. Apparently they were preoccupied with absorbing something special of the moment and the space that-- I had the feeling-- it was available to me as well. I walked a bit around wanting to keep their sight unchanged, how their graceful silhouettes bathed in the evening light. In the sublime silence and bleed of subdued light through the trees, there was a call to worship...
In my own way, I told the deer that I loved the forest as much as she did... Even though I did not enter the circle I was in her territory. It felt like the other side, something that resembled magic. Through some mysterious understanding of the creatures that don't utter words, Cinderella respected the boundaries of the invisible circle as well. She was usually very agitated around wild animals, but this time she was calm and quiet. Too calm and and too quiet, that I almost forgot that she was with me...
The deer remained there, in the circle, gazing peacefully as we were leaving slowly...
Cunosc sentimentul. E ca o întâlnire de gradul trei cu un extraterestru .
ReplyDeleteCred ca atunci cand scriam mi-am amintit de intalnirea ta cu calul, de primavara trecuta.
