Beauty aging
I can feel it. There is sustained pressure especially for a woman that's getting older, to hide any signs of her aging, even to the point of having fake elements on/in her body and compromise health to enhance look and sex appeal. I resist it not because I am not interested in beauty; I naturally am. But I believe beauty here is grossly misunderstood and highly commercialized.
A saying in art sounds like... if you can't hide something, show it with style. It is a rather a desperate act to employ temporary solutions like make up, or constant hair dyeing, that will dump loads of chemicals in your body; or have regular surgical interventions that would make your body look abused on the long run.
It seems like hair dyeing is a big one. A woman who does not color her white hair is perceived almost like a careless and irresponsible one. As if one can control the pigment of her hair as she can do with weight. I am yet to know about a diet or lifestyle that can stop white hair coming out, when as far as keeping ideal weight is no longer a secret.
The general tendency is to go boldly against white hair and dye it with a darker color in the hope that a strong contrast will give the spark of youth. However, not every woman wants to color her hair every month to hide that feisty white line that keeps coming out and reveal the painful truth: yes, we are aging! Hello! I would integrate the white hair into a new look rather than give the impression that it's not there. Some highlights, or a light color to blend in with white to not show an overwhelmingly depigmented mass of hair... And so not to stress every other washing with another coloring session. Scalp is not a canvas after all...
We cannot stop aging. Living in denial and creating short-lived illusions of being ageless are not real help, nor healthy. The best we can do, however, is to age with grace. And being fair about it.
I've seen old people who, although I perceived their many years, had a certain beauty still-- a dignity of their demeanor when aged does not seem ugly, but it's just another stage that has a beauty of its own. A common characteristic of these people is being skinny and fit. There are few degrees of a certain amount of fat on the human body that is normal. What is extra changes recognizable features and creates a bulging efect. People who gain weight become unrecognizable even when they are younger. Although not ideal, I find that white hair does not spoil beauty as fat does.
E atata frumusete in alb.
